Lifting People out of Their Impoverished Condition
CCI's holistic, goal oriented life-plan approach is successfully lifting individuals and families out of poverty. We fully identify and address all life issues concurrently. Randomly addressing isolated issues with isolated services can actually perpetuate a person's distress.
According to the US Census Bureau in 2010, the overall poverty rate was the highest since 1993, and the highest number of people in poverty ever recorded (46.2 Million). The overall poverty rate in 2010 has increased from a recent low of 11.3 percent in 2000. The percentage of all persons living in poverty in 2010, 15.1 percent, was at or above the poverty rates experienced during the 1980s and 1990s.
Stop merely servicing people IN their distressed condition, but truly work holistically and collaboratively to lift people OUT of their distressed condition. With poverty on the rise, we need to end the co-dependent enabling model for service delivery and collaborate with all available community services to improve the lives of the impoverished, not maintain their distressed state.
